I am the publicist for Spur Calgary
In the last year, what is the longest you have gone ‘unplugged’?
No internet, no cell phone, etc. When I was in India in November for three weeks. I did check email and post pics to Facebook periodically, but was basically incommunicado for the full trip. It was amazing.
Which book is currently on your nightstand?
Word of Mouth Marketing by Andy Sernovitz.
What is the one item you never leave home without?
iPhone, so cliche.
Do you have any friends you have never met in person?
Yes, I have a few online I have met through discussion groups in Texas, Montreal and Pennsylvania.
Do you have a favourite podcast?
I have sort of given up on podcasts, as the ever lengthening queue of unlistened to podcasts gave me anxiety. But I will say Serial was addictive.
Who was the last person you texted?
The animated show The Jetsons was set in 2062. Is there anything from their futuristic world that you wish were a current reality?
I can’t say I have ever seen an episode of The Jetsons; but based on that list, the electric dress is pretty rad.
How do you prefer to communicate with colleagues: by phone, email, text or in person? How do you prefer to communicate with friends?
I prefer in person, drinking wine or coffee, but text is my reality.
What do you love about the city in which you live?
I love the entrepreneurial spirit of Calgary. There is no limits of what people want to accomplish and most have a very “get it done” type of attitude. Its a city that works hard; but plays hard too.
